How speakers are chosen

Selected by a committee, not sold a slot

Speaking positions at the World Police Summit are not for sale. Every abstract is reviewed by the Speakers & Agenda Committee against the year’s thematic tracks, and commercial organisations reach the audience through the exhibition floor and sponsorship instead.

Open call for abstracts

Anyone with relevant operational or research work can submit through the Speakers Submission Portal.

Committee review

The Speakers & Agenda Committee reviews every submission collectively and contacts applicants with the outcome.

Track fit decides

Submissions are matched to the fourteen tracks. Strong work outside the tracks may be shared through official outreach instead of a session.

Subject to slot availability

Final selection depends on programme and slot availability — an approved abstract is not automatically a session.

In their words

Why they keep coming back

“It was great to talk about how we all need to get together and protect information, people, places and organisations. We are looking for a holistic approach to security, and the World Police Summit provides that avenue.”

Carmen Best · Retired Chief of Police; former Director of Global Security and Risk Operations, Microsoft

“This is my third World Police Summit and it’s really a great pleasure to be back. It is such a good platform to convene police leaders from around the world, to share best practices, experiences and recommendations and forge new partnerships.”

Jonathon Passmore · Programme Manager, Road Safety, World Health Organization

“The World Police Summit enables many people who work in law enforcement to meet here, compare notes and see what is working, what is not working, and have a common policy that needs to be addressed from a global standpoint.”

Stefano Berterame · Acting Secretary, UN International Narcotics Control Board
